Lansdale Borough officially has a new upscale dining option now that Round House has completed their inspections and two-day soft-launch period earlier this week.
As previously announced by North Penn Now, the owners of Round Guys Brewing Company enlisted the help of JGCE LLC — who currently operate and manage destination restaurants in Harleysville’s Butcher and Barkeep and Souderton’s Northbound — to convert their former taproom on South Wood Street into a 90-seat restaurant complete with an overhauled menu and accompanying cocktail program.
With inspections and approvals in the books, and a two-day soft launch period to allow staff to test and train on their new systems, Round House is officially open to the public as of Thursday.
“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind — a few sleepless nights getting it all finished,” said Cody Ferdinand, of JGCE. “We got tremendous effort from the Round Guys team and the new Round House staff. Lou Schoeffling is an amazing general contractor. Foreground Design put together a beautiful plan for us, and Ed Artz Cabinetry put together all our custom booths and tables. In the last six weeks the space is completely transformed.”
To say “transformed” is an understatement. Guests who are previously familiar with the Round Guys taproom layout may be shocked by the size and openness of the new Round House. The front-end maintains most of the previous layout, however the bar has been refinished, the walls have been painted, and new tables, chairs, and booths have been put in place. The rear wall separating the taproom from the initial brewing area is now gone, giving way to expanded seating including a trio of six-seat booths an scalable tables for groups of different sizes.
On the menu side of things, Round House offers scratch cooking with a classic American fare — including the fan-favorite sexy fries from Northbound and Butcher and Barkeep — along with entrees and small plates that highlight local and seasonal flavors. The food is complimented by a creative and comprehensive cocktail program, as well as beers and seltzers from Round Guys Brewing Co. and wines and spirits from various locations across the state.
“Enjoying great food and drink are passions among my partners and I,” said Ferdinand. “It’s always a thrill to start a new project to create and execute new ideas. The creative process and working with a team of likeminded people is what it’s all about. I can’t wait for the people of Lansdale to come in and enjoy our new spot.”
Beginning Thursday, Round House will be serving lunch and dinner seven days per week, with brunch being served on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. For more information on Round House, click here. Follow them on Facebook here.
