A Lansdale man has been sentenced to jail time and probation in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in Lansdale Borough in August 2021.
Timothy Glackin, 33, recently pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, along with misdemeanor counts of posing an instrument of crime and defiant trespassing, court records show. Additional charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, and indecent exposure, were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea.
Common Pleas Judge Steven O’Neill sentenced Glackin to 564 days to 23 months in county jail, followed by five years’ probation. Additional sentencing notes indicate Glackin is prohibited from having contact with the victim and must surrender all firearms under Pennsylvania Act 79 requirements.
Glackin, who has remained in custody since his arrest, was granted credit for 564 days of time served and was subsequently released from county jail.
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Eighth Street at 9:16 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2021, for a report of a stabbing. Arriving officers encountered a male victim suffering from stab wounds to his head, back and both arms, who stated that Glackin had repeatedly stabbed him with a pair of scissors, according to the criminal complaint.
The victim reported to police that he had encountered Glackin in the enclosed porch to the rear of his home. The victim stated that he asked why Glackin was there, at which point Glackin “began to talk about things that did not make sense,” the report states. Glackin then attacked the victim with a pair of scissors, before a third man intervened and stopped the attack, investigators said.
Glackin was known to the victim, but the attack was unprovoked, police said.
After the stabbing, Glackin allegedly exited the victim’s home, removed all his clothing, and fled the scene on foot. Montgomery County Dispatch received multiple calls about a nude adult male walking down West Seventh Street, and Glackin was subsequently taken into custody.
Police described Glackin as rambling, and said he offered the unsolicited statement that he “woke up this morning and killed someone.” He was then transported to Lansdale Hospital for a mental health evaluation, according to the complaint.
Police said the victim of the stabbing was taken to Lansdale Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He was later released.
