Telford Man Drowns Saving Two Kids in Lake Nockamixon

The Bucks County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man who died while saving two children at Lake Nockamixon Thursday afternoon.

According to a report by WFMZ, 37-year-old Marvin Alexan Fernandez Chicas rescued two children swimming in the lake that appeared to be in distress, however he disappeared after reentering the water near Mountainview Drive in Haycock Township around 4:45 p.m.

The coroner’s office was called to the scene after a search for Chicas led to the discovery of his body, according to a report by Chris Dornblaser at The Reporter.

Chicas’ family as since been notified, the report states. The coroner’s office has listed his cause of death as drowning and manner of death as accidental.
