Multi-Vehicle Crash in Upper Gwynedd Sends 2 to Hospital Thursday Morning

Two people were injured on Thursday morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Dekalb Pike in Upper Gwynedd Township.

Police were dispatched to the scene near the intersection with Welsh Road at 11:50 a.m. for a report of a two-vehicle crash. Investigators said a vehicle was traveling northbound on Dekalb Pike when a vehicle exiting the Wawa pulled in front of them, causing the crash.

According to Upper Gwynedd Police Chief David Duffy, two women — ages 27 and 57 — inside of the northbound vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were subsequently transported via ambulance to Grand View Hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

Dekalb Pike was briefly reduced to one lane as a result of the crash, with the scene being cleared at 12:24 p.m. A traffic citation was issued to the driver who was exiting the Wawa, Duffy said.

Upper Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Upper Gwynedd Fire Department and VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
