Fundraiser Launched for Family of Teen Killed Crossing Bethlehem Pike

A fundraiser has been launched for the family of a teen that was killed Wednesday night while attempting to cross Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Township.

Emergency response personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Walnut Street just after 9:30 p.m. on June 28 for a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. A source at the scene said the teen was struck by a Hyundai sedan while attempting to cross Bethlehem Pike at the nearby railroad crossing.

North Penn Now independently confirmed the teen was transported to Lansdale Hospital, where they were pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Corroborating sources confirmed the victim was a 13-year-old boy.

The fundraiser was launched Thursday afternoon to benefit the teen’s father and sister, according to the GoFundMe page. At the time of publishing, the fundraising effort had already reached $7,600 of it’s initial $8,000 goal. You can donate to the family here.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Hatfield Township Police Department Highway Safety Unit.
