Elm Terrace Gardens Celebrates the Centennial Birthdays of 4 of Their Residents

Elm Terrace Gardens held a birthday party last week for four of their residents, all of whom have eclipsed the century mark. Celebrated that afternoon was Dorothy Resinger, who had just turned 100, Rosemary Bradley, who is now 101, Mary Lewis, who is also 101, and Elva Gilbert, who has reached 103 years old.

The party took place from noon to 3 p.m., with festivities including appearances from some of the staff of Suncrest hospice, who dressed up as Sandy and Danny from the movie Greece, as well as Marilyn Monroe. The Philly Phanatic had also sent up several autographed pictures of himself for the birthday ladies.

The residents were treated to a nice lunch, as well as performances done by the members of Suncrest hospice, before wrapping the afternoon up taking turns singing karaoke. Also included in the festivities was the arrival of state representative Steve Malagari, who showed up to the party to give them all a proclamation.

“They were all very excited to be celebrated, I mean, they were all so happy to be there, I feel like they all felt special for their day,” said Erin Trout, Director of Sales and Marketing at Elm Terrace Gardens, who helped put together the party.
