On Friday, residents at Souderton Mennonite Homes gathered for a special early Father’s Day program with former professional baseball player and local member of the community, Jamie Moyer.

Moyer pitched for the Phillies during the World Series championship games in 2008 and his father — who was also a professional baseball player for a short time — resides at Souderton Mennonite Homes (pictured in the family photo). Moyer spoke about his 25-year baseball career with eight different major league teams and the ups and downs he has experienced over the years.
