Indian Creek Foundation will kick off the summer season with their 32nd Annual Roll, Stroll & Run fundraising event on Saturday, June 17. The walk, run, and cycling event is forecasted to attract about 300 people for a morning and afternoon of activities.
Riders, runners, and walkers will depart from and return to the Foundation’s main campus at 420 Cowpath Road in Souderton. Participants, supporters, and volunteers will all enjoy a picnic lunch and family entertainment during the afternoon.
“Our residents, as well as their caregivers and families, have fun spending this day outside while taking part in the festivities and meeting people from the community,” said Brett Wells, Director of Development.
Guests at this year’s event will enjoy many features, such as a beer garden, a moon bounce for the kids, family games on the lawn, and lively music. Members of the board of directors will also be on hand to provide tours of the building.
“Two of the event’s founders, Vernon Martin and Gene Kropf, will be joining us this year. We’re happy to be able to connect the event’s past and future together,” said Beth Healy, Fundraising Assistant. “Like all our events, community participation is a key part of our success. By bringing members of the community to our campus, we get to share our story and tell even more people about our important work.”
The Roll, Stroll & Run is the foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds mostly being allocated to residential home improvements. Indian Creek Foundation operates 25 homes in the area for individuals with disabilities and is committed to maintaining them in excellent condition. Participants who register for the 2023 event are encouraged to take the next step and engage in fundraising.
“Participant fundraising extends the reach far beyond what we can accomplish on our own,” said Wells. “Our event participants are vital supporters of our mission, and we embrace the opportunity to raise awareness of our work by connecting to more people through their fundraising efforts.”
