Total Liquidators has solidified a late-summer opening next to Lidl grocery store in Towamencin Township – just in time for pre-college and school shopping.
The business
announced Tuesday on its Facebook page that its necessary and required inspections from the township went great at its 35,000-square-foot location in the former Acme Market building on Welsh Road. It is awaiting final permits from Towamencin.
"All we need now is our U&O (Use & Occupancy Permit), and to finish stocking up a few shelves and we will be ready to open to the public. We are pushing for the middle of August,” stated the post. "Thank you for patiently awaiting our grand opening.”
Unfortunately, the North Wales Road location in Montgomery Township has closed, but the Warminster, Bensalem, and Quakertown locations remain open. Hours are Wednesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends.
Back in March, when the store, which specializes in selling discount name-brand overstock,
announced its opening at the shopping center at the intersection of Welsh Road and Oak Blvd., the initial opening target was May 2023.
Total Liquidators sells "big-box” store items at discount prices, such as items from Target, according to its website. Its wares include housewares (towels, sheets, curtains, detergent, vacuums, steam vacs, paper products), baby items (formula, diapers, wipes, car seats, playpens, changing tables), beauty supplies, furniture (HDTVs, lamps, floor rugs, couches, chairs, mattresses, pillows, wall décor), kitchen items (coolers, mini fridges, pots and pans, crock pots, coffeemakers, microwaves, blenders, mugs, water bottles), toys, and clothing.
Back in February 2019, Towamencin supervisors approved land development plans to Germany-based Lidl to convert the former 61,000-square-foot Acme into two tenant spaces of almost equal size. Lidl opened in January 2020.
