Two Hospitalized Following Three-Vehicle Crash at North Wales and Welsh Roads Tuesday Evening

Two men were hospitalized Tuesday evening following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Wales and Welsh roads in Upper Gwynedd Township.

First responders were dispatched to the scene just after 6 p.m. for a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. Upper Gwynedd Police Chief David Duffy said a Buick SUV turned left in front of a Toyota Camry that was attempting to make a left onto Welsh Road, causing the initial crash. A third vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata, was struck following the initial crash, Duffy said.

Two men that were in the same vehicle were transported via ambulance to Grand View Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Duffy said. The other two drivers, also men, sustained minor injuries and were released after being treated at the scene.

Portions of North Wales and Welsh roads were briefly closed as a result of the crash, with the scene being cleared at 6:44 p.m.

Upper Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by fire police from North Penn Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, and the Fire Department of Montgomery Township.

Duffy said the driver of the Buick will receive a traffic citation for making an illegal left turn.
