Aidan Cullinan always wanted to start a business from the ground up. As a business student at Bucks County Community College, he thought it’d be the perfect opportunity to start one right in his community in Sellersville.
"I just really liked the idea of [starting a] business because everybody kind of wins in that situation,” Cullinan, 20, said. "I can provide a service for someone and then the client will be happy because they get a clean property, and then I'm happy because I get paid and I get to make them happy.”
After researching and finding a few local businesses offering junk removal services, he launched his own company called Studs Haul Away in the spring of this year. He has friends helping him out on occasion.
"I figured I can just hop in and try to do my best and see if I can compete [with other businesses],” Cullinan said.
Studs Haul Away offers estate and garage cleanouts, commercial junk removal, demolition, curbside pickup, weekly residential junk removal and furniture and appliance removal — primarily in Bucks County. Customers can book services through its website. Prices vary based on weight or the amount of waste that needs to be removed.
The junk removal company also strives to divert waste from entering landfills by donating furniture or other items to Care & Share Thrift, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army. Cullinan also takes metals and plastics to local recycling facilities.
Since he started his business in the spring, he’s done a handful of services and has received only good reviews, Cullinan said.
"I just try to give my best service, so I can be on top of everyone else who's out here,” Cullinan said.
