Police have launched an investigation after numerous dead birds were found near feeding stations at the Warminster Community Park on Saturday morning.

Investigators with the Warminster Township Police Department as well as the Warminster Animal Control Officer were notified of the incident on July 8 after dead birds were discovered at feeding stations near the old NADC tower in the park, located at 300 Veterans Way. Investigators said they believed the feeding stations contained a poison to kill the birds, which was likely placed during the early morning hours of July 8.

Police said the suspected poison is dangerous to both animals and humans, and the public is warned that should they encounter similar feeders or bait, they should not handle them and instead contact police for proper removal.

The investigation is being conducted between the Warminster Township Police Department, Warminster Animal Control, and Pennsylvania SPCA.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Warminster Township Police Department at 215-672-1000. Tips can also be sent anonymously here.
