Moyer’s annual fundraising event, newly named “The Run in Souderton” is set to return this year on Tuesday, July 11 at 6 p.m. for its 28th official year. Included in the fundraiser is a kids’ fun run starting at 6:30 p.m., with the Fitness Walk and 5K run both starting at 7 p.m.
The event is hosted by Moyer and will take place at Souderton Community Park on 459 Wile Avenue, with pre-registration open at emoyer.com/5k. Registration will also be open in person at the Community Park between 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Much is new for the event this year besides its name, with it taking place on a Tuesday instead of a Wednesday, and also the addition of the Keystone Opportunity Center as a new beneficiary.
Before this year, money generated in the fundraiser went towards the scholarships of a few selected students from Souderton Area High School. While that is still the case for this year, funds will additionally be sent to Keystone Opportunity Center to help support the community.
This year the recipients of the scholarship generated by the fundraiser are Nathan Fickert and Nora Richardson — both members of the Souderton Area High School Class of 2023.
“We are thrilled to add Keystone Opportunity Center as a beneficiary. We are proud to have created a means to show how our community comes together to help each other. It’s an investment in our hometown and it’s also a great time,” said David Moyer, president of Moyer, in a press release
The Keystone Opportunity Center helps benefit the region by helping to provide and train community members in need to use the tools they require to become self-sufficient.
