Early Morning Fire Destroys Home in Montgomery Township

A Montgomery Township family has been displaced after a fire destroyed their home early Tuesday morning.

First responders were dispatched to the 100 block of Greenbriar Road at 12:58 a.m. for a report of a residential dwelling fire. Dispatch notes indicate the called could see visible flames from the home, and arriving firefighters encountered a fully-involved fire at the home.

Ultimately, the home was destroyed by the blaze. The homeowners, who were out of town at the time of the fire, will be displaced upon returning home, officials said.

Officials with the Fire Department of Montgomery Township said the fire originated from the home’s two-story garage and then spread into the home itself. Later Tuesday morning, officials said the cause of the blaze is under investigation by the township’s fire marshal.

No injuries were reported.

The Fire Department of Montgomery Township was assisted at the scene by units from the Montgomery Township Police Department, Hatfield Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company, North Penn Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, Bucks County Rescue and other neighboring units.
