Senator Maria Collett has announced $388,566 in grant funding for 29 local fire companies and emergency medical services (EMS) departments awarded by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
“Local first responders – the majority of whom are volunteers in my district – are critical to public safety and put their lives on the line every day to protect us,” Collett said. “These grants will help them secure the equipment and training they need to do their jobs safely and effectively."
“VMSC is very appreciative of the Office of the State Fire Commissioner and Senator Collett for their assistance in obtaining this grant funding,” said Laura Smith, Director of Public Affairs at Volunteer Medical Service Corp (VMSC) of Lansdale. “Each dollar received ensures VMSC is providing the highest quality emergency services to our communities.”
