The North Penn High School (NPHS) Thespian Troupe is holding their 24th annual Knight of the Arts Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Gala and Silent Auction on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in the NPHS auditorium, located at 1340 South Valley Forge Road in Towamencin.
The NPHS Thespians will reach their goal during the event of $100,000 donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS since 1999. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the largest nonprofit AIDS fundraising organizations, providing funding for essential services for those living with HIV/AIDS and other critical illnesses. The organization also helps individuals across the country access lifesaving medication, healthcare, nutritious meals, counseling, and emergency financial assistance. Performances at the event include the NPHS Thespians and the JROTC drill team. All three middle schools will present sneak peaks of their spring musicals, as well as a preview of NPHS’s Frozen, the Broadway Musical. The silent auction items include Broadway memorabilia, with most items signed, including a Frozen poster signed by the original cast.
There is no ticket to enter the event, but donations are encouraged. The silent auction will begin at 7 p.m., followed by performances in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available at the concession stand. The dress code is casual.
