Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Church Road in Lansdale

UPDATE: Dec. 22, 9:32 p.m. - Lansdale Borough Police Chief Mike Trail has confirmed to North Penn Now that a pedestrian was struck at the scene and transported to the hospital in critical condition. Trail described the victim's injuries as "life threatening."

The scene remains active at this time, and the cause of the crash is under investigation. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police, Trail said, adding that he will release additional information once it becomes available.

UPDATE: Dec. 22, 9:24 p.m. - The striking vehicle is described as a dark-colored Mazda SUV. The victim has since been transported to an area hospital via ambulance, and their current condition is unknown.

Church Road is closed between the Pennbrook Train Station and Station Square Boulevard. Avoid the area.

Lansdale Borough Police are at the scene of a crash on Church Road involving a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.

First responders were dispatched to the intersection with Station Square Boulevard at 8:48 p.m. on Dec. 22 for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Dispatch radio traffic indicated a male victim was struck by a vehicle, and arriving police located the victim lying unconscious in the roadway.

Radio traffic stated the male was bleeding heavily, and first responders were performing CPR.
