Two local men have been charged in connection with an October road rage incident on Church Road in Lansdale Borough involving a juvenile female driver.
Police said the driver filed a report with police on Oct. 20 regarding a road rage incident that had occurred around 3 p.m. on Church Road near Pennbrook Parkway. The girl told police she was driving alone in her vehicle northbound on Church Road when a small black car began traveling directly behind her after allegedly making an illegal pass of a truck. The driver of the black car, identified as 18-year-old Connor Dean, began honking their horn to get traffic to move, but the girl said she couldn’t move as traffic was stopped in front of her, according to the criminal complaint.
While stopped, a passenger from the Dean’s vehicle — identified as 18-year-old Thaddeo Iuliano, of Upper Gwynedd Township — exited the vehicle, began yelling at the girl, and kicked the rear-fender area of her car, police said. Iuliano then returned to the vehicle, the report states.
A foot mark was observed on the vehicle by investigators, according to the complaint.
Dean then drove his vehicle next to the girl’s car, at which point Iuliano allegedly pointed a black handgun into the air and yelled "keep moving p---y,” before Dean fled the scene at a high rate of speed on the left side of the stopped traffic, police said.
"I thought I was going to die,” the girl told police, adding that she is scared to drive now. "I didn’t think I was gonna make it out alive.”
Police were able to trace the vehicle to Dean, and identified the passenger as Iuliano, according to the complaint. The girl would later positively identify both men via photo array, police said.
As a result of the incident, Dean and Iuliano have been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, and related conspiracy offenses. Dean also faces an additional two charges of careless driving and reckless driving, court records show.
Both men will make their first court appearance during a preliminary hearing on Jan. 31, 2024, in front of Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine.
When asked why no firearms charges were filed, investigators told North Penn Now there was currently not enough evidence to support those charges.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
