United Way of Bucks County Running 10th Annual Holiday Gift Card Drive for Older Kids

Volunteers pack donated gift cards.

The United Way of Bucks County has launched its 10thannual Holiday Gift Card Drive that is dedicated to providing holiday cheer to older children and teens in need throughout the county.

Celebrating a decade of the program, the Holiday Gift Card Drive targets kids who are often overlooked by traditional toy drives and focuses on teens and tweens who might otherwise go without gifts during the holiday season.

This holiday season, the United Way of Bucks County aims to reach about 2,000 young people across every zip code in Bucks County.

Marissa Christie, president and CEO of United Way of Bucks County, highlighted the impact of the drive.

"Over the past decade, our Holiday Gift Card Drive has helped more than 11,000 local teens and tweens have a bright holiday,” she said. "We invite everyone in the community to open their hearts and give this year. Whether these kids are in foster care, recently lost a parent, or money is just tight for their families, having a gift to look forward to will help them feel valued instead of forgotten.”

Christie also mentioned that donations can be made in tribute to someone as a unique holiday gift idea.

"This is truly the gift that keeps on giving,” she stated.

The honored individual will receive a special holiday card detailing the donation’s impact.

The nonprofit organization stressed that direct donations are the most beneficial form of support. Online contributions enable the Falls Township-based nonprofit to purchase gift cards in bulk at a discounted rate to help more teens.

Community members who wish to contribute to the Holiday Gift Card Drive can do so online at www.uwbucks.org/giftcarddrive. Donations can also be made via check mailed to United Way of Bucks County at 413 Hood Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030, with "Gift Card Drive” indicated in the memo line.

LevittownNow.comNewtownPANow.com, and NewHopeFreePress.com are the media sponsors for the drive.
