Dog Killed in Fire on Washington Avenue Friday Afternoon in North Wales

A dog was killed Friday afternoon in a fire at a single-family home along the 300 block of Washington Avenue in North Wales Borough.

Crews were dispatched to the scene around 3 p.m. on Dec. 8 for a report of a residential fire. Arriving first responders found a home with smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters made entry into the home and quickly extinguished the fire.

A resident from a neighboring home told North Penn Nowthat the homeowner’s dog died as a result of the fire. Emergency radio traffic indicates that the fire was placed under control at 3:11 p.m., with no other injuries reported.

 

 

 

 

North Penn Fire Company was assisted at the scene by units from the North Wales Police Department, Towamencin Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, and VMSC Emergency Medical Services.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
