Crews on Scene of Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries and Rescue in Towamencin

First responders are currently at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment at the intersection of Forty Foot Road and Sumneytown Pike in Towamencin Township.

Police and emergency medical personnel were called to the scene at 6:44 p.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. A minute later, units from the Towamencin Fire Company were called to the scene for a rescue call, according to county dispatch recordings.

Arriving personnel found a black compact SUV had overturned following a collision with a white Penske van, leaving the SUV driver trapped inside of their vehicle. They have since been freed from the vehicle, though the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

Forty Foot Road has been closed and other nearby roads have lane restrictions as crews work to process and clear the scene. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
