Hatfield Police have confirmed they are investigating a burglary that occurred Thanksgiving morning at the Exxon gas station at Welsh and Orvilla roads.
Investigators said the burglary occurred between midnight and 1 a.m. on Nov. 23, when two unknown males gained entry into the convenience store and targeted a gambling machine. Sources who observed the scene in the aftermath described seeing a broken window and crime scene tape around the building.
Police said it is unclear if anything else was stolen, as they’re still conducting an inventory of the store.
Investigators declined to comment further, citing the active investigation.
Gambling machines have been a big target for thieves in recent years, both across the region and locally. Incidents at the 7-Elevens inLansdaleand Towamencininvolved thieves targeting the skills machines, as well as other locations including the Liberty gas station in Hatfield, the Sunoco A-Plus in Hilltown, and the Liberty gas station in Franconia.
