Hilltown Man Identified as Victim of Monday’s Fatal Crash in Upper Bucks County

A Hilltown Township man has been identified as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in upper Bucks County early Monday morning.

According to the crash report from the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred just after 4 a.m. on Aug. 28 along the 1700 block of Richlandtown Pike in Springfield Township. Police said a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling at an unsafe speed for the road conditions while attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree.

The operator of the vehicle — identified as 23-year-old Owen. G. Orser — sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Saint Like’s Upper Bucks Campus, where he was later pronounced dead, according to reporting by Saucon Source.

Orser was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to police. His cause of death has been listed as accidental, following an autopsy by Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck, reports WFMZ.

According to Orser’s obituary, he was a 2019 graduate of Pennridge High School and Upper Bucks County Technical School who had been working as a diesel technician with Bergey Truck Center for three years. Orser also secured his commercial driver’s license after finishing school and worked as a short-haul dump truck driver at EDP.
