Police Investigating After Woman and Two Young Children Struck by Pickup Truck Monday Afternoon in Lansdale

Lansdale Borough Police have released the details of a pedestrian struck incident that occurred Monday afternoon outside of the Pavilion Shopping Center on South Broad Street that left three people hospitalized — including two young children.

Police said the crash occurred at 3:24 p.m. along the 500 block of South Broad Street at the intersection with Whites Road. Responding officers learned that a 56-year-old woman was pushing a stroller with an infant female and 2-year-old male in the crosswalk when they were struck by a GMC Sierra pickup truck that was attempting to make a left onto South Broad Street, police said.

The truck was being driven by a 44-year-old male along with two passengers, according to police.

The woman and two children were transported from the scene via ambulance to Grand View Hospital. In a follow up email to North Penn Now, police said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, however they have not received a follow up from the hospital and the current conditions of the three victims are unknown.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Lansdale Borough Police Department at 215-368-1801. Tips can also be submitted here.

Lansdale Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Upper Gwynedd Police Department and VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
