Montgomery County's Green Lane Park will host two free environmental educational programs this September.

Tree ID Made Easy

Don't know a beech from a birch tree? Join us for "Tree ID Made Easy." Learn tips and tricks for identifying native trees and shrubs by their leaves, fruit, and more. Staff will share natural and cultural history about each of the plants.

The program will be held on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. at Hemlock Point Office Building, 1494 Gravel Pike, Green Lane, directly behind Marlborough Elementary School. Ages eight to adult are welcome. Pre-registration is required. Call 610-287-6970 to reserve your space.

12th Annual Upper Perkiomen Bird & Wildlife Festival

Bring the whole family to this annual community event on Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which features live music, live animal presentations, children's games and activities, and much more. Guests are invited to visit over 20 educational booths staffed by conservation groups. Guests can also shop for environmentally themed merchandise, or visit the "eco-raffle" table for a chance to win prizes donated by local merchants. The event attracts over 3,000 attendees each year, so join them for the fun! Proceeds benefit Friends of Green Lane Park.

The Upper Perkiomen Bird and Wildlife Festival is held rain or shine. The event will take place at the Amphitheater Area of Green Lane Park, located at 2298 Green Lane Rd, Green Lane. For more information on the event, contact Kevin Crilley at 215-234-4528 or [email protected]
