Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Bethlehem Pike Saturday Night

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night following a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Township Line Road in Hatfield Township.

First responders were dispatched to the scene just after 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 for a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment along the 3500 block of Bethlehem Pike. The crash involved a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, according to police.

Sources at the scene said the driver of the pickup — later identified by police as a 66-year-old man from Souderton — became entrapped inside of his vehicle and was eventually rescued by firefighters. The man reportedly suffered injuries to his legs and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as a 21-year-old man from Sellersville, was airlifted to a trauma center in Philadelphia, where he was later pronounced dead.

Bethlehem Pike was closed for approximately five hours following the crash as investigators processed the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or anyone with information to call 215-855-0903 and reference case number 2023-17979. Tips can also be emailed to [email protected] and anonymous tips can be sent here.
