Hilltown Police Seek Assistance in Identifying ‘Backyard BBQ Bandit’ Who Stole Merch from Giant

Hilltown Township Police are seeking public assistance in identifying a retail theft suspect who stole various items consistent with a backyard barbecue from Giant in the Hilltown Plaza Shopping Center during the evening of July 21.

Investigators, who have dubbed the suspect as the “Backyard BBQ Bandit,” said the man entered the store at approximately 7:45 p.m. and proceeded to select various items before leaving the store without rendering payment. The total value of the stolen items is listed as $176.35, police said.

The man then drove away from the scene in a white SUV that investigators said could possibly be a Chevrolet Equinox. An image of the vehicle can be viewed here.
