‘Best Things Pennsylvania’ Names Hatfield Aquatic Center Top 10 Public Pool in State

AmericanTowns Media’s Best Things Pennsylvania has named Hatfield Aquatic Center in Hatfield Township as one of the 10 best public swimming pools in the state.

Hatfield Aquatic Center is the "perfect swimming escape,” according to the list.

"Unwind and chill out while jumping into the refreshing pool or challenge yourself with an exciting dive off the diving boards! Enjoy some well-deserved ‘me’ time while beating the heat in style,” said the article.

Other pools on the list include Codorus State Park Swimming Pool in Hanover, Kingston Community Pool in Kingston, Tohickon Valley Park Pool in Point Pleasant, Neshaminy Swimming Pool in Neshaminy, and Fleetwood Community Pool in Fleetwood.

The community pool at 2500 Chestnut Street in Hatfield features zero-beach entry, a whale sprayground for those five and under, a water castle with slide, a blue otter slide that is eight feet wide and allows three children to go down it at a time side-by-side, twisty water slides, a hydrotherapy pool, and a six-foot-wide lazy river.

Hatfield Aquatic Center also boasts a fitness pool with a green drop slide in the deep end and a low diving board.

Hatfield Township Commissioner Jerry Andris, who currently serves as the commissioner liaison to the all-volunteer Pool Advisory Board, was on the board when the aquatic center was planned for and constructed in the late 2000s.

"It's exciting to get recognized state-wide for our aquatic center, but we've known how special our public pool is since it opened over 15 years ago,” Andris said. “We always envisioned a place for families to have fun together in the summer and also an opportunity for older children to get a job gain experiences to help them when they enter the workforce.”

Andris added the township will continue to make investments in the aquatic center to maintain its reputation as a special place in the area.

“The aquatic center has been one of my proudest achievements as a commissioner, and I'm grateful that I'm still on the board to make sure it gets the proper staffing, maintenance and upgrades," Andris said.

While the Hatfield Aquatic Center offers season passes for residents and non-residents, it also offers daily passes that must be purchased at the center. Resident rates are $20 for ages five to 59, $15 for those under five or 60 and older, and non-resident daily pass rates are $30 for those five to 59 and $25 for those under five and 60 and older.
