FBI Investigating After Gunpoint Robbery of Montgomeryville 7-Eleven Connected to Similar Incidents Across Region

The FBI and local law enforcement agencies are offering a reward and asking the public’s help in identifying and locating three suspects who have committed at least five armed robberies of 7-Eleven stores in the area in the past 10 days, including the Horsham Road store in Montgomery Township.

Authorities said the robberies took place between midnight at 2 a.m. In each of the incidents, one suspect would guard the door while the other two suspects confronted a store employee, brandish a firearm, make threats, and demand money, police said.

The robbers have also gone behind the front counter to intimidate or physically assault the employee and then take the money, according to police.

The subjects are described as three black males, and they have concealed their faces with masks and sunglasses and worn gloves, police said. The dates and locations of the robberies include:

  • July 22 – 7-Eleven; 2370 Dutton Mill Road, Aston Township (Delaware County)
  • July 22 – 7-Eleven; 143 West Eagle Road, Haverford Township (Delaware County)
  • July 27 – 7-Eleven; 1307 Chester Pike, Sharon Hill (Delaware County)
  • July 30 – 7-Eleven; 791 Horsham Road, Montgomery Township (Montgomery County)
  • July 30 – 7-Eleven; 932 Street Road, Upper Southampton Township (Bucks County)

In the Montgomery Township incident, police responded at 12:07 a.m. to the 7-Eleven for a report of an armed robbery, where an employee told them he was approached by a man dressed in all black while in the back room. The suspect pointed a black handgun at the employee and demanded he open the two registers, while a second suspect dressed in all black stood at the entrance as a lookout, according to investigators.

After the robbery, both men fled on foot toward the rear of the store, police said.

The first suspect in the Montgomery Township incident is described as a 20- to 30-year-old man, over 6 feet tall and heavyset. He was wearing a black ski mask, black hoodie, neon yellow gloves, black sweatpants with a white stripe on the side, and black sneakers with a white line that goes from heel to toe, police said.

The second suspect in the Montgomery Township incident is described as a 20- to 30-year-old man, 6 feet tall with an average build. The suspect was wearing a black mask and black hoodie with white triangle design and red writing underneath, according to police.

While officers investigated the robbery, they received a call stating a similar robbery had occurred an hour prior at the 7-Eleven in Upper Southampton, Bucks County, police said.

In the most recent robberies, only two of the armed robbers were present and participated, police said.

The subjects are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on these robberies or these subjects is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or go to tips.fbi.gov. Footage from the Haverford robbery can be viewed below.
