Apologies, Arnold Palmer – Lansdale’s Boardroom Spirits and Rosenberger’s have a hole-in-one collaboration with its new iced tea concoction, now available locally.
Rosenberger’s Iced Tea & Vodka takes the 95-year-old family recipe of its iced tea and blends it with Boardroom’s premium award-winning distilled vodka. What was once the thing of red cups in basement parties or casual couch cocktails is now a reality in stores. It will also be a reality at the upcoming Lansdale First Friday events.
“We enjoyed releasing this product because it was a surprise,” said Chris Roessler, of Boardroom Spirits, in an email to North Penn Now. “We didn’t make much of an announcement and just rolled with it. Cool and casual, like an easy drinking Rosenberger’s Iced Tea and Vodka. We’re happy to say that we’ve seen an outpouring of support from the local community.”
Roessler said the collaboration came about naturally through a mutual industry friend, Ben Fileccia, of the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association.
“From there, the relationship went together like peas in a pod, peanut butter and jelly, or, in our case, Rosenberger’s Iced Tea and Boardroom Spirits vodka,” he said.
Canning of the new dream-come-true coalescence is nothing, Roessler said, like you would see in the movie “Fantasia.”
“The blend of tea and vodka is balanced with the right amount of sugar to give the product body and full flavor, without being overly sweet. We like to think of it as a taste of nostalgia in a can,” Roessler said. “Even if you didn’t grow up drinking Rosenberger’s Iced Tea like us, it’s a phenomenal product to try as an adult.”
Roessler said the best part of the experience has been working with another local brand, which has been part of the Balford Farms family for some time.
“The best part about local brands working together is that it brings a broad team of people to produce the right mix of flavor and character to make it a success. This has truly been a fun and collaborative experience from recipe development, to tasting, which is the best part, to the great design work from Bergey Creative Group, to more tastings -- still the best part,” he said. “There is no one person to thank, but rather a collective group effort with a common goal of creating the best tasting Vodka Iced Tea that is naturally flavored and naturally gluten-free, without any artificial flavors or colors.”
Roessler said Rosenberger’s and Balford Farms are excited about the partnership.
“The coolest part about releasing a Rosenberger’s Iced Tea and Vodka is being able to absorb the history that the Rosenberger’s brand has built over the years,” he said. “Rosenberger’s has been a big part of this community for a long time and a lot of people grew up drinking their exceptional products.”
He said the Boardroom Spirits staff had met many family members and employees who worked at the plant to visit the tasting room, enjoy the product, and share their stories about the brand.
“The community lives on, and a new chapter begins,” Roessler said.
There is more to come for Boardroom Spirits as well. Roessler said his company has always had the privilege of being part of the involved, growing, and thriving community of Lansdale.
“Our business model, as any healthy business, has evolved over the years and we plan to continue to evolve and grow with the challenges and opportunities that come next. We do have some exciting product releases on the way,” he said, “But beyond products, we keep our commitment to working with local organizations focused on first responders/veterans, animal causes, and green initiatives.”
