Obit: Harry James “Jim” Finnemeyer Jr., Longtime North Penn High School Teacher, Dies at 76

Harry J. Finnemeyer, Jr., 76, passed away at his home on April 20, 2023. He was the loving husband of the late Barrie (Herbert) Finnemeyer.

Born in Hatfield, he was the son of the late Harry James Finnemeyer, Sr., and Shirley (Weierman) Finnemeyer.

Harry was a longtime member of Emanuel E.C. Church, Hatfield. He worked as a teacher for 35 years in the North Penn School District.

He is survived by his children; Matthew Finnemeyer (Valerie) and Andrew Finnemeyer; grandchildren Leaniya, Zedrian, and Nikko; sister Lana Turner, brother Jim Herbert (Wendy); along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held in the future at the North Penn High School.

Additional Information

Jim Finnemeyer was a graduate of North Penn High School’s Class of 1964 and went on to teach at the school for more than three decades, graduating nearly 50,000 students over that time. He was also a member of the 2016 inaugural Knights of Honor class.
