Woman Arrested on Attempted Burglary, Trespassing Charges in Perkasie

Stephanie Biddle, 38, no fixed address.

A woman was recently arrested after allegedly attempting to break into a home along the 300 block of Washington Avenue in Perkasie Borough.

Police were dispatched to the home at 5:55 a.m. on April 8 for a report of a burglary in progress. Arriving police found a woman — identified as 38-year-old Stephanie Biddle, no fixed address — sitting towards the rear of the property, and when asked why she was there, Biddle stated she had just been released from the hospital and had knocked on the door so she could use a phone, according to the criminal complaint.

The homeowners advised police that they heard a banging noise coming from the rear of their home and observed an unknown woman — later identified as Biddle — on their back porch, police said. The homeowners told police a window screen had been removed from a window on their back porch, and a window on their back door had been shattered, according to charging documents.

Police said they located a brick near the broken window. Biddle allegedly told police that she didn’t know the homeowners and was subsequently taken into custody.

Court records show Biddle was charged with felony counts of attempted burglary and attempted criminal trespassing, along with misdemeanor counts of loitering, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. She’s currently being held at the Bucks County Jail in lieu of 10% of $10,000 cash bail.

Biddle’s next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on May 9 in front of Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
