Overnight Shooting in Lansdale Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured [UPDATED]

UPDATE: April 18, 8:05 a.m. -
In a phone interview with North Penn Now, Lansdale Police Chief Mike Trail said both victims of the shooting were male and have been positively identified, however he cannot release additional information due to the ongoing homicide investigation.
When asked if any suspect was in custody, Trail declined to answer beyond stating, "We are not looking for any other suspect, and there is no ongoing threat to the public."
 
Trail said the investigation is being assisted by members of the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, and additional information will likely be released by the district attorney's office later on Tuesday.

An overnight shooting in Lansdale Borough has left one dead and one hospitalized.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. along the 400 block of Walnut Street. North Penn Now has confirmed that one victim was airlifted from the scene with injuries, while a second person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses at the scene described seeing one person removed from the home on a stretcher, and investigators from the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office were later observed on scene.

The nature of the shooting and whether any arrests have been made are currently unknown.
