Police were dispatched to the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Garden Golf Boulevard at 8:35 p.m. on April 12 for a report of a vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. Arriving officers said the crash involved a 2019 Toyota Tacoma driven by a 70-year-old male from Williamsburg, VA, and a 2019 Yamaha motorcycle that was being operated by Ramirez, of North Wales.
Ramirez — a North Penn High School senior who was scheduled to graduate in June — was pronounced dead at the scene following attempted life-saving efforts.
News of Ramirez’s death quickly spread Thursday morning, prompting an email from North Penn High School Principal Kyle Hassler to area parents acknowledging the tragic incident. [Read the full email here.]
“As both a principal and as a parent, I can think of no worse tragedy than the loss of a child and I know you join me in extending heartfelt sympathy to the family,” Hassler said. This should have been a celebratory time for Servio’s family as they prepared to watch their son graduate. Please keep the Ramirez family in your thoughts as they grieve the loss of their son.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Montgomery Township Police are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have video footage of the incident to contact the Highway Safety unit 215-362-2301. Tips can also be emailed to [email protected].
