Fairmount Fire Company has announced the details for this year’s “Under the Lights” Car Show, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 17 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“Under the Lights” is the fire company’s annual major fundraiser — now in its 32nd year — which features hundreds of vehicles in competition, classic to current, from the turn of the 20th century right to current vehicles. The event features hundreds of vehicles lining West Main Street from South Broad Street to Valley Forge Road, and typically draws tens of thousands of guests each year.
Vehicles can be registered in advance by sending in a completed version of this form. On the day of the event, show registration will begin at 2 p.m. on Cannon Avenue, with vehicles being staged on West Main Street beginning at 4 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top three vehicles in each of the more than 20 contest categories.
Funds raised via the event are used to maintain and purchase new equipment and provide training for all members of the fire company.
Event planners are still seeking additional sponsors for the car show, as well as food vendors. Sponsorship information can be found here, and food vendor information can be found here.
