How kickin' is your chili?
It’s time to test your (or your restaurant’s) recipe against that of your friends and neighbors as Discover Lansdale announces the return of the annual Chili Cook-Off to its October First Friday, themed as a Fall Festival.
For the first time in three years, the Cook-Off returns on Friday, Oct. 7, starting at 6 p.m., on Susquehanna Avenue next to the West Main Lot in downtown Lansdale. It will be a centerpiece of that month’s First Friday celebration, which will also include fall-themed festivities, a beer garden, live music, a photo scavenger hunt and food trucks.
"I’m really looking forward to the return of the Chili Cook-Off,” said Discover Lansdale’s Bill Henning. "It has always been a fun and tasty way to bring the community together while welcoming in the fall season.”
Participation in the Cook-Off is open to businesses and residents, and is limited to the first 15 entrants, so send your entry form in early. You must bring a gallon of chili, ready-to-eat; Discover Lansdale will provide spoons, cups, and napkins for serving to the general public. There will be awards for first, second, and third place.
