Mayoral Musings: A Busy Saturday on Deck for Lansdale

Lansdale Borough Hall.

This weekend — specifically this Saturday, Sept. 24 — will be a very busy day for the community. Well Crafted (four years) and Round Guys (10 years) are both celebrating their “birthdays,” while Stove & Tap will be offering dining on North Wood Street.

Beginning at around noon, Madison Street and Wood Street will be shut down for the duration of the day and through the evening, ending around 11 p.m. Additionally, Round Guys will be using their parking lot for their celebration. While this will not require any roads to be shutdown, there is likely to be a large volume of people traveling between the celebrations and drivers should be extra careful if traveling in the area on Saturday.

If possible, I would suggest avoiding Main Street if you are traveling through town.

If you are planning on attending and are looking for a place to park, the best option is going to be the SEPTA parking garage located here.. It is free to park in the garage and you will have direct access to the Madison Street area without having to circle Main Street 10 times waiting for a spot to open. The quickest access point to the garage is on West Fifth Street just after Maple Avenue. You can also access it off Main Street by turning into the Train Station. However, the area will be busy, and it is likely to be faster via the Fifth Street entry.

I am excited to see everyone come out and celebrate the amazing craft beer culture we have here in Lansdale. It is a testament to our community that two of the best breweries in the area, likely the Commonwealth, are celebrating their longevity and continue to be proud to call Lansdale home. I am hopeful that this Saturday will be a huge success for all the business involved and we will be able to do something similar next year. However, that means that safety standards must maintained throughout the duration of the event. Some quick reminders:

  • Beer is not allowed outside the designated areas. Please do not travel between events with open containers. You will be ticketed if you are caught.
  • Do not drink and drive. Just don’t do it.
  • Fencing, barriers, and police are there to keep everyone safe. Please be respectful.

Finally, have a great time! It is great to be able to throw a celebration this size in our community and have people enjoying some of the beautiful fall weather! As a busy and growing community, it is important that we continue to showcase all that Lansdale has to offer. Events like this allow us to celebrate while also attracting new people and businesses to our community and that is a great way to keep us all moving forward together.
