Thieves Strike Sunoco A-Plus on Bethlehem Pike, Steal Cash from Gaming Machines

For at least the third time this month, thieves have struck a North Penn-area convenience store in order to steal money from the gaming machines inside.

Hilltown Township Police were dispatched to the Sunoco A-Plus at the intersection of Bethlehem and Hilltown pikes on Sept. 16 at 2:59 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Police said two men entered the store, threatened to shoot the employee, then forcibly opened several gaming machines and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from inside the machines.

Additional units from the Central Bucks Regional Police Department and a canine unit from the New Britain Township Police Department also responded to the scene, however investigators learned the suspects had fled the scene in a maroon SUV. The suspects are described as two young Black males wearing dark clothing and masks.

Details from the Sunoco A-Plus robbery fall in line with the 7-Eleven robberies in Lansdale and Towamencin. In all three incidents, two suspects entered the store during early-morning hours, then targeted gaming machines and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash taken from inside the machines.

In response to a question from North Penn Now, a spokesperson for Hilltown Township Police stated while no direct connection has been made, its safe to say they believe there is a connection between the robberies.
