Three people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a trash truck in Hilltown Township.
According to details released Thursday afternoon, police were dispatched to the intersection of Route 113 and Minsi Trail at 3:09 p.m. on Sept. 14 for a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
As a result of the crash, two children sustained what police described as serious injuries, and they were both airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.
An adult female driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Grand View Hospital, police said. The driver of the trash truck was uninjured.
Traffic in the area was diverted for three hours in order to allow police to conduct an on-scene investigation. They were assisted by police from Bedminster Township and Dublin Borough, as well as units from Hilltown Fire Company, Perkasie Fire Company, Point Pleasant-Plumsteadville EMS, Central Bucks EMS, Temple MedFlight, JeffSTAT, and fire police from area fire companies.
