Fundraiser Launched for Father and Three Sons Displaced by Sunday’s Fire on West Main Street

A local fundraiser has been launched to aid a local father and his three sons after they were displaced from their home Sunday afternoon following a kitchen fire at their home along the 800 block of West Main Street in Lansdale.

A GoFundMe started by The Main Freeze owner Eileen McNulty is now live to support the Eaton family – dad Khallas, and sons Khalani, Keanu, and KyMani.

As of Friday morning, $2,445 was raised by 51 donors toward the $5,000 goal.

Khalani was a star running back at North Penn High School and is now in his freshman year at Lackawanna College. Keanu and KyMani are in the ninth and sixth grade, respectively.

Khallas owns Café Gor(illa), which specializes in soul food and Caribbean flavor. Khallas’ jerk chicken was available during nonprofit HOME On Main’s grand opening at 810 W. Main St. last weekend, and they were also featured at the beer garden of Discover Lansdale’s June First Friday.

“A little return love is just what the Eatons could use right now,” McNulty wrote.

Khallas told McNulty: “I love Lansdale. It’s my home. I’m never leaving.”

Fairmount Fire Co. Deputy Chief Gavin Butler told North Penn Now Sunday that the Eaton home is uninhabitable at the moment. The Wolfle family in the neighboring twin had minimal smoke damage in their home.

The Eaton family is currently staying in temporary housing provided by the American Red Cross. In addition to the GoFundMe, Main Freeze said they are accepting monetary donations on behalf of the Eaton family.
