It’s been proven that performing acts of kindness is good for your mental and physical health. The Souderton-Telford Rotary Club is presenting two opportunities to take care of yourself and others by joining in on these September events.
First up is their Annual Benefit Auction, hosted by the non-profit arm of the club, the Souderton-Telford Rotary Foundation. It all happens at the Indian Valley Country Club, 650 Bergey Road in Telford on Thursday, Sept. 22. Doors open at 5 p.m. for an evening that includes dinner, networking, silent auction, and the always high-spirited live auction. This year’s theme is “Imagine the Experience” with many experiences and items for attendees to bid on. Tickets are $50 per person or $350 for a table of eight and are available now at www.souderton-telfordrotary.com.
Proceeds from the event benefit the club’s general fund, which supports annual academic scholarships for local graduates, local relief projects, youth leadership programs, global grants, and more. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the ongoing campaign for the Souderton Community Park Renovation Project.
The following week is the Community Mixer, a free event to learn more about the Souderton-Telford Rotary Club, meet new people, and make great connections. The Community Mixer takes place Thursday, Sept. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Broad Theater, 24 West Broad Street in Souderton. The club will be providing complimentary refreshments as well as the opportunity to win terrific door prizes.
Rotarians unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. The Souderton-Telford Rotary Club is engaged in projects and acts of service big and small. Including those mentioned earlier, the club also leads a local Adopt a Highway clean-up, Concert Sundaes service, efforts to combat food insecurity, and more.
Membership in the Souderton-Telford Rotary Club is an ideal way to create positive change and make lasting friendships. Regular dinner meetings take place the first, second, and fourth Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. and a lunch meeting every third Thursday at noon. Visit www.souderton-telfordrotary.com for meeting locations and more information. Guests are always welcome to attend and learn more about Rotary.
