North Penn Fire Company Brings Fire Prevention to Living Rooms Around the World

Being in a fire is a scary experience, especially if you are a child. Helping kids become familiar with firefighters is a large part of fire prevention month, and firefighters visit schools throughout the nation to help kids become comfortable with firefighters in their gear.

However, who has ever seen a firefighter in their actual home where you need them the most?

North Penn Fire Company has partnered with forensic investigation firm DJS Associates to create an augmented reality experience that brings firefighter familiarization straight to anyone with a smartphone or tablet.

“This new technology allows us to place one of our firefighters right in your living room, basement, front porch, or anywhere you want,” said Matthew Daywalt, Fire Prevention Officer at North Penn Volunteer Fire Company. “Now, kids and families can become even more familiar with firefighters, even from the safety and comfort of their own home.”

This technology is cutting-edge in fire prevention curriculum and is a tool that can be used immediately by families all around the world.

“We all have families. Realizing we could use this technology to help keep our neighbors safe from harm is an obvious opportunity for us,” said Justin Schorr, CEO of DJS Associates. “We’ve always felt a call to aid in the prevention of tragedy, and we are honored any time we can use our deep bench of professionals and our equipment to do so.”

The QR code is available free of charge and will remain live for all to use. If you have questions about fire prevention curriculum, please reach out to your local fire company. If you have questions about augmented reality or forensics investigation, please reach out to DJS Associates.
