(The following information was provided by the North Penn YMCA.)

The North Penn YMCA, with branches in Lansdale and Harleysville, raised more than $20,000 during the annual Golf Classic to Benefit Kids, which was held on Oct. 7 at Hickory Valley Golf Club in Gilbertsville. The golf tournament raises funds to help support youth programs at the Y, such as free memberships for seventh grade students, summer camp, swim lessons, and various child care programs.

The event welcomed more than 110 golfers on a picture-perfect day for great golf, fun and games. Members of the Hatfield Township Police Department, including Jay Ciarlello, Bill Steinberg, Sean Scanlan, and Scott Nowetner, walked away with the Inaugural Police Division Championship with the best score out of three other police departments including Montgomery Township, Towamencin, and Lansdale.
