The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has released the identities of two male teens who were killed in a fatal shooting in Pottstown Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as 17-year-old Skyler Fox, of Stowe, and 18-year-old Brandon Baycote-Byer, of Lower Pottsgrove. A report by Evan Brandt at the Pottstown Mercury indicates both teens were students at Pottsgrove High School.
County dispatch received multiple 9-1-1 calls at 11:33 p.m. regarding shots fired in the area of Fourth and Johnson streets. Arriving police located the bodies of a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male lying outside of a vehicle belonging to one of the victims.
Investigators said they recovered 10 shell casings, one projectile and a 9mm handgun with the serial number obliterated at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on the victims on Oct. 18 by forensic pathologist Dr. Julie De La Garza, of the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. Garza concluded both Fox and Baycote-Byer died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, and their manner of death has been listed as homicide.
