For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Drug Addiction Resource Alliance (DARA) will return to holding in-person forums beginning with an event scheduled for Thursday night at the North Penn YMCA.
The event, which will feature various treatment providers, support groups, and resources, will begin at 6 p.m. with resource tables, followed by a presentation by special guest speaker Tony Luke Jr. at 7 p.m. The event will also feature the presentation of the First-Annual Gary Hendler Commitment to Recovery Award.
Free naloxone and training will be provided, as well as free refreshments.
DARA is a collective of locally available resources that are available to assist those who suspect someone they love may be struggling with substance abuse disorder. The group — founded by District Judge Andrea Duffy — provides education and support for families of those who are suffering from addiction.
