(The following information was provided by the Montgomery County Office of Communications.)
The Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC) invites the
public to join county staff for a brief presentation to kick off the planning
process for Montco 2050: A Comprehensive Plan for a Changing World.
This will be the county’s new comprehensive plan, with an anticipated adoption
date in 2025.
The forum will take place on Monday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room on the 8th floor of One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede Street, Norristown. A virtual option is also available with registration on Zoom at www.montcopa.org/2050townhall. A recording of the forum will be posted online for future viewing as well.
The forum will begin with a short presentation on the role of a county comprehensive plan and the information that comprehensive plans cover, such as (but not limited to) housing, land use, utilities, preservation, and transportation. MCPC staff will also discuss the plan’s theme of “change.”
For the second half of the event, attendees will have the chance to ask questions about the planning process and voice any initial thoughts on what the county’s planning priorities should be. Information about how to give detailed feedback and provide input, including an online survey, will be provided.
