North Penn High School (NPHS) will be opening the Crawford Stadium track for community use. Members of the community will be able to use the track when students are not in attendance and the stadium is not being used by the North Penn School District (NPSD) for sports, music, or other events.
By opening Crawford Stadium to members of the public, NPHS intends to provide a safe and easy way for community members to stay fit and utilize the facilities to their full extent. The community is asked to respect the facility and help maintain a clean and safe atmosphere.
During the school year, the track will be open Monday through Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., and Saturdays from 6:15 a.m. to noon. During the summer break, the track will be available Monday through Thursday from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., and Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This availability is subject to change, and a calendar of availability will be posted at Crawford Stadium on a monthly basis.
The schedule can also be found on the NPSD website.
Those wishing to use the track should park in the front NPHS parking lot, closest to the gymnasium entrance. Community members must exit the parking lot by 6:30 a.m. to allow for high school staff to park. Stadium use is limited to the track only, and use of the turf field, bleachers, or other stadium areas will not be permitted. Bathrooms will not be available for use during community hours. Security lights will be in use during hours of darkness, but the stadium field lighting will not be turned on out of respect for neighbors of the property. The stadium and surrounding areas are equipped with security cameras.
