A little more than two months after The Healthy Shack’s September opening in Lansdale, owners Buddy Harris and Julie Palermo are already beginning to expand their offerings with warm and hot menu items.
And with that expansion comes some tasty food for Thanksgiving — with a charitable twist.
On Nov. 24 — Thanksgiving Day — from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Healthy Shack will be giving away free rice bowls to any anyone who may be in need of a warm meal. And should those people prefer a smoothie, those will be free as well.
“This is our way of giving thanks to a community that has been so good to us,” said Harris.
Harris and Palermo opened The Health Shack in early September, located in the courtyard of Madison Lansdale Station at 325 Madison Street, Suite E1008 in Lansdale Borough. At launch, the shop boasted offerings of smoothies, smoothie bowls, and coffee products, as well as hummus and avocado toast, however they have begun to expand into the warm food and breakfast arenas in recent weeks.
“We chose Lansdale because this is our town,” Harris said. “This town gave us the confidence to take a risk on a new venture. There was never a question where we would want to open it. We always knew it would be Lansdale and we knew we wanted it in the borough.”
