A black bear was spotted on the 200 block of Church Road Monday afternoon in Upper Gwynedd Township, police announced on Facebook Monday.
“Around midafternoon, there was a report of a small black bear sighting … PA Game Commission has been notified. Please use caution and call UGPD immediately if you see any bears,” stated the Facebook post.
This is the third black bear sighting in the North Penn area since May. At that time, a bear was spotted on the 2900 block of Woodview Drive near Line Lexington Road in Hatfield Township. In April, Montgomery Township Police reported a black bear sighting on the 1100 block of Stump Road, but nothing was located.
If a bear is seen in the area, call the Pennsylvania Game Commission at 610-926-3136 or 911 for local police.
