Dear residents, business owners, and friends of Hilltown Township and Silverdale Borough,
The Hilltown Township Police Department is again partnering with the Quakertown Borough Police Department and over a dozen other surrounding law enforcement agencies for the 12th Annual Shop with a Cop event. The event is hosted by the Quakertown Borough Police Department and will be held on Dec. 15.
Shop with a Cop focuses on children and families facing a variety of challenges, such as a parent losing a job, homelessness, military deployment, economic, and other hardships. Police officers are paired up with elementary school level children to shop in an effort to give them and their families a more memorable Christmas. Last year, 230 children each received a monetary gift card to purchase gifts for themselves and family members. Over a dozen children from the Hilltown and Silverdale communities participated.
This year the goal is to pair officers with close to 270 children.
This national program is funded through the generous donations from our own community, from private sponsors to local businesses.
